Potty Training Must-Haves: Essential Tools for the 3-Day Method

Embarking on the potty training journey with your child can be both exciting and challenging. The 3-day method has gained popularity for its intensive approach, aiming to help children transition from diapers to using the potty in a short period. To ensure a smooth and successful potty training experience, it’s essential to have the right tools and supplies on hand. In this blog post, I’ll share my must-haves for potty training using the 3-day method, empowering you with the necessary resources to make this milestone a positive and efficient process.

  1. Potty Chair or Seat: Investing in a comfortable and child-friendly potty chair or seat is crucial for the 3-day potty training method. Look for one that is sturdy, easy to clean, and suits your child’s size and preferences. Some potty chairs come with fun designs or interactive features that can engage and motivate your little one during the process.
  2. Step Stool: A step stool is an invaluable tool to help your child gain independence in reaching the potty and washing their hands. Choose a sturdy and non-slip step stool that is the appropriate height for your child. This will not only aid them during potty training but also be useful for other tasks like reaching the sink or climbing onto the toilet seat independently.
  3. Training Pants: Training pants or underwear specifically designed for potty training are essential to help your child make the transition from diapers to underwear. These pants offer a balance between comfort and absorbency while allowing your child to feel wetness, promoting awareness of their body’s signals. Look for training pants with elastic waistbands for easy pulling up and down.
  4. Rewards System: Motivation plays a significant role in potty training success. Implementing a rewards system can encourage and reinforce positive behavior. Consider using stickers, small treats, or a reward chart where your child can track their progress and celebrate each successful trip to the potty. Tailor the rewards to your child’s interests and preferences to make the process even more engaging.
  5. Potty Training Books or Videos: Educational resources in the form of potty training books or videos can be valuable tools to familiarize your child with the concept of using the potty. Look for age-appropriate books or videos that feature characters or stories that resonate with your child. These resources can help them understand the process, normalize the experience, and provide guidance and reassurance.

Embarking on the potty training journey using the 3-day method can be a significant milestone for both you and your child. By equipping yourself with the right tools and supplies, you can set the stage for a successful and positive potty training experience. From a comfortable potty chair to engaging resources and a rewards system, these must-haves will support and empower your child throughout their potty training journey. Remember, patience, consistency, and praise are equally important during this process. With the right tools and a nurturing environment, your little one will be well on their way to mastering the art of using the potty.

Next time you get ready to potty train don’t let Next time you get ready to potty train don’t let ANYONE tell you that one gender is easier than the other. Kids are kids and they each have their own personality. My daughter is very much into doing things herself without help—so potty training had to be done by her not the experts (myself). I used the same potty training technique that I used with the boys, and it did take a bit longer for her to get it—but that’s because she took what I told her to do and did her own thing. 🤣 The next big step? Moving to a big girl bed. I’m not ready. 😭
Ok smoothie, ice cream—it’s all the same thing Ok smoothie, ice cream—it’s all the same thing. Elevate your @corepower drink by using the @ninjakitchen Creami. To prep my ice cream I pour my drink into the container the night before with some bananas. The next morning it’s ready, I mix it twice on lite ice cream. If it seems like it’s not mixing well just add a splash of milk. I typically like to add Lilly’s Chocolate Chips, but they were missing so I found the marshmallows and said whatever and threw some in. I then mixed it on “mix in” and it seriously tastes like a frosty. It is delicious!
