Easy Family Halloween Costumes for the Whole Family

The time of year is upon us where we can eat all things pumpkin, buy all the mums (you know you are going to kill), and decorate your house with cobwebs (or just not dust). It’s also the time of year that it’s perfectly acceptable to dress up in costumes as an adult! I always loved a good couples costume when my husband and I were dating–but after having kids, the fun just continued with family costumes. I’ve compiled our family costumes below and will try to link any that are still available!

I’ve always love Halloween–as a kid I vividly remember my mom taking us to pick out a pattern for our halloween costume and then she would work hours on each of our costumes. I think she stopped by time we were in high school, but she continued to make them for my younger siblings. The cowboy outfit below was a mock up of Woody’s costume. It went through My brother, my oldest, and then my youngest. I love that costume, and put it away for safe keeping.
Monsters Inc. is another one of those movies that will always be loved many years down the road. We love this costume combo!
Our superhero costumes were one of the quickest ones to put together! I lost Carson’s original costume, so pulled this off with superhero stuff we had around the house–the same day.

We dressed up as the Whole Finding Nemo crew, however it was Florida and mom and dad quickly took off their costumes. If it’s cool where you are it’s an easy one to get everyone to dress up!
I love these type of costumes for trick or treat events that aren’t exactly on Halloween. Here we grabbed our Fireman costume, a black polka dot onesie, and a Paw Patrol costume. It turned out so cute!
Last year was my niece’s first Halloween which meant we all had to go ALL out. The majority of these costumes were DIY. Below are the DIY’s for each costume.
Mickey- Black leggings, Red shorts, Black long sleeve shirt, yellow shoes
Minnie- spray painted moccasins
Pete- Suspenders, Jeans, blue button up (and some fluff for stuffing)
Clarabelle- Pull together a yellow outfit and cow ears
Donald- Donald Shirt, yellow socks, light khaki shorts
Daisy- Yellow leggings, purple shirt, white tutu, pink converse
We had big plans for Halloween this year, but then 2020 happened. Not sure what are plans are yet, but we will celebrate the spooky holiday somehow!

However, our main focus of the week is RESPECT. Respecting the person in charge of our country, state, home, school, etc. even if you do not like them. 🇺🇸 We all have different views even if we all voted the same. I challenge you this week to respect others, to love one another even if you don’t agree with whatever is happening in our world. 💙

One reason I chose teaching was the way you could see the little minds shaped over a year. They are sponges and truly soak up everything! Everyday isn’t 🌈 and 🦋 and these boys test my patience daily, but I’m so blessed to be their teacher. Oh and the teacher gifts that come to my door daily are 👏👏 Did you homeschool this year, what did you love?

Here’s to 2021 camping! 🤣 We love exploring the state parks in our own state, and hiking the trails. Now to make a fire, and roast some more marshmallows—because really what else do you do when you make a fire?
