When I started this whole mom thing, I was determined to still have my morning time. As a stay at home mom I craved the quietness of the mornings, and needed it to prepare myself for the busy day ahead while enjoying a little something to eat. I began setting my alarm for 6AM daily, and enjoying the stillness of the house. Luckily, I am the person who has always loved mornings, I’ve rarely slept in past 8:30AM–however, you will find me taking a quick cat nap daily. I’ve got three tips for you ro start a morning routine this new year.
1. Make Time For Yourself
When I wake up at 6, I turn the coffee pot on and brew a hot cup of coffee. I don’t typically have time to drink coffee after the boys wake up as our day starts getting busy, so coffee before allows me to finish it before it gets cold. After my coffee, I typically have about 30 minutes of alone time, I spend it reading some of my favorite blogs and preparing for the day ahead. Carson and I usually have something going on in the morning so this is the easiest time to get ready for what we have planned for the day.
2. Find What Works For You
I know that making lunches isn’t ideal for everyone in the morning, but it works for me. I always have the next days school clothes picked out, and shoes set out next to it. The backpack and lunch box are waiting by the door and ready to go so nothing is forgotten. Waiting until the morning to prepare these things makes me feel rushed–it works for me, find what works for you.
Each morning I cook up a hot breakfast for my growing boys. I typically cook this up quickly, but for the days I don’t feel like making dishes before 7AM I have Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles®. I found this delicious scrambled egg meal next to the bacon at Walmart. I love that this two egg breakfast that offers protein in the form of sausage, bacon, or both. Which both of my boys love. I love the Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles® for myself as they are protein rich and have no carbs.
Before I found out about Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles® I would grab a granola bar or some overnight oats and eat them in the school drop off line. I now get to enjoy my own hot breakfast including, 2 already scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and cheese. It takes all of 2 minutes to make which is about the time I need to put Bennett’s shoes on.
Head to your local Walmart and pick up your favorite Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles® to help you with your morning routine!
