Carson’s Space Nursery Inspiration

Happy New Year friends! We woke up to a bitter cold on January 1st and have been loving it here in Florida. If you follow me on instagram, you saw that I’m focusing on the word “intentional” for the year 2018. Being a stay at home mom, it’s easy to get side tracked and I want to be more intentional with my days and my times with and without the boys. With a big move coming for our family this month, I want to share my room inspiration with you all for the plans I have for each room.

Knowing we were moving shortly after Carson arrived, I chose not to go all out for his bedroom like I did Bennett’s nursery. We decided to keep it as is and create a gorgeous nursery when we moved. Now the time has come and I have loved gathering ideas from all over for this gorgeous space filled room.

We are going to keep him in his crib for probably another year, and then my hopes are to find a full or queen sized antique metal bed. I’ve been on the search for one for a while now–I’m so picky with what I want so hopefully one will surface soon. He has a gorgeous dresser (similar here) that was passed down with a cabinet in the middle then drawers inside. I love the design and so wish I could find another for the guest room.

I haven’t chosen a quilt for his bed yet, but I love a plain striped quilt and then a duvet cover (without an insert) folded over the bottom for extra warmth on those cold nights. I choose not to put an insert in the duvet because it gets very hot with them down here in Florida. However, I love the pop of color and design they add. The paint color in his room is Repose Gray and the accent wall where his crib will be is Naval and he has these gorgeous Timberclick floors. I love the lightness of Repose Gray, and I definitely recommend it if you want to try out gray in your home.

One design element that I have loved in his current nursery are the Ikea picture ledges. I purchased 12 themed books on Thriftbooks and can’t wait to display them. Displaying books makes for easy art work that is actually engaging.
Star Garland//Starburst Mirror
When I was planning his birthday party, I looked for pieces that could easily be used for bedroom decor and this star garland was one of those. I used this to hang up behind his cake. The mirror I purchased probably 4 years ago at a local store, it doesn’t go with much in our new home–but his bedroom! I am excited to reuse it because it’s a beautiful statement piece.
Constellation Artwork
This constellation artwork popped up on my facebook ad a couple weeks ago and I absolutely fell in love. It takes the night sky from whatever date you plug in and creates this art work. I kind of want one for every important date–but that may be a little much.
Rug
Since we have dark wood floors I wanted a rug to bring some warmth into the room. This rug is absolutely perfect for the space with the dot border. Don’t hate but I got it for super cheap at the Pottery Barn Outlet.
I can’t wait for the big reveal! Anything you think I should add?

A little story behind this picture. 📸 I asked m A little story behind this picture. 📸 I asked my son to take a picture of me and my daughter, he took ONE picture. When I asked him why he only took one picture he said well you said “A picture” and plus you look happy in this one. 💓 I am almost one year postpartum, when I saw the picture I quickly was disgusted with my deflated boobs, and just overall didn’t like it. After his comment though, my thoughts changed. I just had fun playing in the pool with the kids, and the deflated boobs I saw—they provided for my three sweet babies. My life changed when I had this sweet girl, I can’t explain it—but I want her to love her body. I want her to like the picture that her brother took because she looked happy. It’s so important that we teach our children to love themselves the way they were made. 💓
