The View of a 30-Something Mom of two

confessions, finally friday · August 5, 2016

Finally Friday!

It’s Friday and I’m loving that it’s the weekend and my hubs will be home to party hang out with us all weekend! I missed them so much last weekend, when I had a crazy pregnant bachelorette weekend. Now on to my confessions.
I confess I seriously had a blast last weekend. I may not have gone out past my bedtime and danced under the moon on the beach–but hey I still had a blast. The bride’s sisters decorated so wonderfully and seriously did not miss anything. It was gorgeous, everything. I drank quite a few mocktails and stayed super sober, obviously. I’m glad I could be a part of it and that my husband could stay with Bennett.

I confess that our slab was poured, and our house is starting to look like a house sheet of concrete. Hey, you have to start somewhere. In case you missed the pic–check out my instagram @myviewfromuphere.

I confess I got my hair done Thursday. It may or may not have been 3 months since getting it done. Then I had this craziness happen while at the beach this past weekend and my sunscreen dyed my hair orange! I have never seen that happen before, so to even start the process of dying my hair I had to strip it. Needless to say I was there forever. But hey, my sister does my hair and if you’re in Tampa you must go to her or follow her on instagram @conicshaw.

I confess my Bennett’s birthday is next weekend and I did not go all out. #badmom status. But really, so many kids worry about just playing. They don’t care that you made rollup almond butter sandwiches or any other fancy Pinterest find. So we are having it at a local play place–they do all the decorations and I’m bringing pizza and cake. BAM. I conquered the birthday this year!
I confess I’m 22 weeks tomorrow and super excited–I love everything about being pregnant this time. Which is wonderful because this little guy will complete our family and I’m so glad I am enjoying it. I will say I am cherishing every moment of carrying him though. It’s weird to think I probably won’t carry another baby again. ok let’s stop before the tears start.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend. What are your confessing?

This time my mom and father in law joined and were able to experience a sonogram with us. It’s amazing all the things you can see on a 3D/4D sonogram including her sucking on the umbilical cord, each little finger, her foot on top of her head, and so much more. I highly recommend visiting @babyscene1 with your family.

Homeschooling—it’s something I have truly fall Homeschooling—it’s something I have truly fallen in love with. It allows me the best of both worlds—teaching and being home with my kids. Homeschooling allows these two to become the best of friends. It allows me to really take what we’re learning and put it into our world of play. Imaginative play is so amazing at this young age and they learn so much by just playing. Yesterday, after learning about parallel, perpendicular, and intersecting lines—I took the boys outside to find lines outside. They ended up making a “fire” using sticks that they found, and creating lines out of them. 🔥 If you are hesitant on homeschooling please ask me! I’d love to answer any questions!
