The View of a 30-Something Mom of two

11 Month Update!

Weight/Length: 21 lbs 11 oz, not sure of height we will just wait to find out next month!

Hair: His hair is a light brown/dirty blonde color. I’m pretty sure this is the way it will stay.

Diapers: Size 4 and Large Gdiapers and we started using the One Size Flips which I love

Clothing: 12-18 month clothing from Gymboree and Gap, 12 Months from Carters…and we have been using 18 month PJs for when his PJs just seem too tight! We have been looking for shoes lately that are perfect for my little bear crawlin’ boy, we are loving his Nikes and Stride Rite sandals–as well as many other shoes.

Favorite Things: balls, steering wheel, cars–if it has wheels and goes he likes it (including his friends Barbie car.)
Likes: watching us vacuum, playing with his aunts and uncles and grandparents, eating, playing in his play room, taking walks with Pop Pop,

Eating: He is a great eater that’s for sure! I would say some of his favorites are homemade Mac N Cheese, Bananas, Bagels, and Broccoli…oh! and avocado! He will really eat anything so I can’t pin point a favorite just yet.

We transitioned to drinking his formula/milk out of a sippy cup at all times. We give with/before his Breakfast, with/before morning snack, with/before afternoon snack, then after dinner.

Milestones:
  • He got his second tooth, and I don’t see any coming in just yet. It doesn’t stop him from eating though!
  • He took 1 step this past week, but hasn’t done another one since.
  • Says Dada, Mama, bubbles, makes the sound for Pop Pop, Elmo, occasionally hi, bye, and tries his hand at I love you
  • No more bottles, and we started mixing whole milk with his formula.
  • Climbs the stairs!
  • Stands by himself for a few seconds
  • First ride at Sea World
Sleeping: He is down by 8PM, and usually up around 7 give or take 15 minutes. He takes 2 naps one at 9AM and then 2PM, they are usually between 1.5 and 2 hours. I love nap time, great time for me to take a quick breather.

Mama Thoughts:

The last month before my baby boy is a year. I am so excited that we made it through the first year, there were so many ups and downs throughout this year…it was tough! I wouldn’t change it for anything though, I loved every second and would do it all over again in a heart beat. I loved that first month with him, that first week that my husband spent at home with us, waking up and rocking him, having him fall asleep on my chest. He’s such a mobile little one now, and hardly stops for a second…it will only get better from here.

This week we are discussing presidents, and how ma This week we are discussing presidents, and how many people are happy and some are upset about the president elect. However, our main focus of the week is RESPECT. Respecting the person in charge of our country, state, home, school, etc. even if you do not like them. 🇺🇸 We all have different views even if we all voted the same. I challenge you this week to respect others, to love one another even if you don’t agree with whatever is happening in our world. 💙

One reason I chose teaching was the way you could see the little minds shaped over a year. They are sponges and truly soak up everything! Everyday isn’t 🌈 and 🦋 and these boys test my patience daily, but I’m so blessed to be their teacher. Oh and the teacher gifts that come to my door daily are 👏👏 Did you homeschool this year, what did you love?

Here’s to 2021 camping! 🤣 We love exploring the state parks in our own state, and hiking the trails. Now to make a fire, and roast some more marshmallows—because really what else do you do when you make a fire?
