A Day in the Life of a 10 Month Old

A few months ago I did a day in the life post of my sweet little 5 month old boy. A lot has changed since then, and I want you to have a little glimpse into our life. Let me start by saying that since about 4 weeks old, I have had Bennett on a schedule. It was the best thing I ever did for myself or my family. He is able to put himself to sleep and sleeps through the night since 7 and a half months. That’s just my family, every family has something that works for them…and Babywise is definitely for us!

Sometime between 6:30-7:00AM

Bennett wakes up, I grab his bottle and he snuggles in bed with us while he drinks his bottle.

7:30AM

We roll out of bed, and I unload the dishwasher and make breakfast while Bennett plays in the living room with his toys. He then somehow finds his way into the kitchen where I am right when it’s time for breakfast. I’m pretty sure he can smell the waffles in the toaster.

8:00AM

Breakfast usually consists of a waffle or pancake, fruit, and maybe a spoon of yogurt. He can feed himself the finger food, while I eat my breakfast and drink my hot coffee.

8:30AM

More playtime!

9:00AM

Nap time, we change diaper, read a couple books, and I put him in the crib. He sometimes plays around for maybe 10 minutes and falls asleep in whatever position he was in at that 10 minute mark.

10:30/10:45AM

He wakes up, and we cuddle for a few minutes on the couch. We play in the living room, and read some books.

11:00AM

I give him his sippy cup, if he isn’t feeling it I put it in a bottle. Not worth fighting over!

11:15AM

Change into our clothes for the day, and play in the living room and listen to music–be on the lookout for my favorite Pandora stations for kids!

–We may go outside at this time, but it’s so hot we have to find indoor activities to do!

–We have also been known to go to Lowry Park, Busch Gardens, or Adventure Island at this time. It gives us a good amount of time before his next nap.

12:00PM

Pool time! If we go in the pool it’s generally at this time.

12:30PM

Lunch time! While Bennett is in the living room playing/watching a few minutes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (he would actually like me to rewind it after the song every time, because he only wants to watch the song) I make lunch for both of us.

Bennett has a couple grilled strips, strawberries,  carrots, and a slice of cheese.

I had some Lean Cuisine Mac n Cheese with some chicken strips thrown on it, and a side of strawberries!

1:00PM

Clean up and play time, at this time we either do blocks, puzzles or books. Gotta switch it up during the day before I go crazy.

2:00PM

Naptime–diaper change, read a few books.

4:00PM

Bennett wakes up and either gets a sippy cup or bottle. We go down and get the mail, which we have done since he was way little and he loves it! He loves watching the cars go by. When we come back in, I sit him in his walker with some cheerios, puffs, or cheese while I prep dinner. If he doesn’t want to do that he sometimes sits in his high chair, or just plays on the floor in the kitchen with some pots and pans.

5:30PM

Daddy comes home. He knows when it is time for him to come home, and when he finally walks in the door I hear him breathe a sigh of relief. HAHA!

6:00PM

Dinner!

On this particular night Bennett had strawberries, chicken, quesadilla, and carrots. While we had chicken sandwiches with fries. We play for a little after dinner, this is time for Bennett to spend time with dada. They may watch car shows together, or do whatever.

7:30PM

Bath time/Bottle/Books/Bed

We give a bath every night, it’s a way for him to unwind and he loves playing in the water. It also helps us a fill some time in before bedtime.

8:00PM

Hubby and I watch TV for a little, and then get into bed to finish whatever we were watching in the living room.

Some day, he goes in the garage to work…and I run errands. It’s nice because the monitor reaches the garage. So Hubby can keep an eye on him.

9:30/10:00PM

Goodnight, until it all starts again tomorrow!

My favorite part of the day is reading books to him before nap time. He is so snuggly and loves that time with his mama–

What’s your favorite part of your day?

Bless all you kindergarten teachers. Or any of tho Bless all you kindergarten teachers. Or any of those who are telling your students to leave their shoes on and eat a snack (not a meal). Also, any other moms out there that their kid missed their siblings more than you? 🤦🏼‍♀️ oh well, he enjoyed it and his teacher is literally the sweetest thing! How is your first week going? Any case of the kids say the craziest thing? I love the first day of school, and it’s such a special moment to watch and see how each child takes the day and runs with it. 💙

We love making these apple donuts—they are fun for the kids to decorate—add frosting, peanut butter, sprinkles, the list goes on! Kroger now has an amazing new membership that offers FREE next day grocery delivery. They are also giving 2X the fuel points for every dollar spent* on groceries. All of this and much more for $59/Year! We love getting our groceries from Kroger as it saves so much time and money, in more places then just the grocery store.
How are you celebrating National Book Lovers Day? How are you celebrating National Book Lovers Day? Picking books out at the library each week is my favorite part of the week when homeschooling my boys! We go through a list of books that our just right for their reading level, and put them on hold at the library. When they are ready we drive thru and pick them up. The best part? We can look at all the books we read at the end of the school year, and use that as part of our portfolio. Do you utilize your library? How do you pick out your books?

We’ve use @firstdaylife for the boys for a few months now, and I recently purchased the supplements for myself. I’m loving both of them! I take them each morning with my skin care routine—which helps prepare my body for a great day. 👏As a busy mom of three, I need to take care of myself as well and this is one way I do it! We start the homeschool year tomorrow, and I’m excited to get all of my daily routines in order and be prepared for the day!
