The View of a 30-Something Mom of two

confessions, finally friday · January 30, 2015

Finally Friday!

Even though I don’t work I love Fridays! It’s the end of the work week for my hubby, and we finally get to spend some time as a family. Here are my confessions for the week.

{1}

I confess that I skipped out on making dinner on Wednesday. You Working Moms I don’t know how you do it and successfully make dinner do anything in the evening. Instead of making dinner I happily ordered Pizza Hut pepperoni and mushroom pizza and some garlic wings.

{2}

I confess that I love the evenings with my men. I love taking walks, feeding the ducks attempting to feed the ducks (they are brats and run away from bread), feeding Bennett dinner, having dinner on the table, bath time, Baby Einstein, nursing Bennett. All of it just completes my day. When we have date night this is the part I miss the most. I kinda wish I could just have date day every Friday.

{3}

I confess that I am actually excited to sign Bennett up for his Mother’s Day Out program at a local preschool. He will be going here for a few hours on the days that I substitute. I think it’s the teacher in me that gets excited about this. I’m excited for him to learn from the other kids, and the other teachers besides just myself.

I confess that not having coffee on Wednesday morning just about killed me. No Joke. Luckily the girl who I was subbing for saved the day and let me use one of her k-cups. I drank straight up black coffee with some type of sweetener that one of the teachers had. It definitely got me through the day. I guess next time I won’t hit the snooze 20,000 times, and get up when my hubby tells me to. Then I will get to enjoy my morning Starbucks or Dunkin.

{5}

I confess that I never knew the reality of the phrase “they grow so fast” until I had a baby. There are parts of me that want this little 5 month old precious blue eyed drooling boy to stay little forever. There are also parts of me that can’t wait to see the person he becomes. He has such a personality, and I know we are going to love watching him grow up.

The sweetest mornings are spent with these three. The sweetest mornings are spent with these three. I love to do our together learning in the morning—which includes @masterbooks and @gospelproject_ devotion. My youngest even joins in for our morning breakfast devotion, and then reads and plays while we complete social studies and science. What’s your special moment each day?

He’s a sweet kid, who loves to be silly. He likes his alone time to play, but also loves when his brother plays with him. He surprises me daily with all the things he knows, and I’m so blessed we’re going on our third year of learning together. He loves his baby sister something big, and she puts up with his shenanigans. We all love to watch him play and grow in baseball, and watching his skills develop over the years has been fun! Happy birthday sweet Bennett! 🎂
I went to school to be a teacher—but I’m kinda I went to school to be a teacher—but I’m kinda liking this mom gig. 💁🏼‍♀️ My baby turns 8 on Sunday and is having his birthday party this weekend. I kept thinking about party favors, and after chatting with some friends about ideas—decided on this! I loved that I wouldn’t be handing out candy or other items that may end up just thrown away. Also, ice cream was always served with cake as a kid so what better way to get your ice cream later 😉
Bless all you kindergarten teachers. Or any of tho Bless all you kindergarten teachers. Or any of those who are telling your students to leave their shoes on and eat a snack (not a meal). Also, any other moms out there that their kid missed their siblings more than you? 🤦🏼‍♀️ oh well, he enjoyed it and his teacher is literally the sweetest thing! How is your first week going? Any case of the kids say the craziest thing? I love the first day of school, and it’s such a special moment to watch and see how each child takes the day and runs with it. 💙

We love making these apple donuts—they are fun for the kids to decorate—add frosting, peanut butter, sprinkles, the list goes on! Kroger now has an amazing new membership that offers FREE next day grocery delivery. They are also giving 2X the fuel points for every dollar spent* on groceries. All of this and much more for $59/Year! We love getting our groceries from Kroger as it saves so much time and money, in more places then just the grocery store.
