Bennett: Five Months

Weight/Length: He was exactly 14 lbs. on his five month weight check in. (We bought a scale shortly after he was born, it’s a lot of fun to check to see how our little man is growing!) He was 26″ when we measured his length, and didn’t measure his head this time. He’s a long and lean baby, and we love it!

Hair: I think his hair is getting a little lighter compared to when he was born. It’s getting long in the back and remaining shorter on the sides, with a few stragglers.

Diapers: Size 2 Honest Company and Medium Gdiapers.

Clothing: 3-6 Months in Gap, Old Navy, and Gymboree. 6 Months in Carters. 🙂

Favorite Things: The swing (both in and outside), his bug crib toy, and piano gym

Likes: He loves listening to music–any kind, he loves the stroller and the ergo, eating at dinner time (not so much breakfast time), swim class, watching other kids, anything to do with outside!

Dislikes: The Bumbo. Well, he likes it but he spits up in it every time he sits in it. So it is not my favorite thing. Hopefully he will like it at some point!

Milestones: He is starting to stand up, as well as learning to sit up. I’m guessing he will be able to sit up by 6 months. He started rolling right around 3.5 Months stopped about a month later. Did it the other day and decided it wasn’t for him again. We will see when he starts again. He LOVES to talk and laugh , he will talk to anyone. He is usually the one talking during his My Gym class.

Sleeping: Oh sleeping…Usually up 2 times at night, sometimes around 1am and then at 4/5. (But last night he slept til 4:30AM, it was pure bliss!) He usually takes 2 naps during the day and a catnap in the evening. His first nap is about an hour and the next one at least 1.5 hours.

Mama Thoughts:
I hear myself daily say how I can’t believe how fast he is growing, and I want my newborn baby back! In all honesty, I love watching him grow and learn about the world around him. Literally, he is a sponge that is taking in everything around him. All it takes is usually one or two times of showing him something and he is ready to go! This is such a fun stage and I can’t wait to continue to watch him grow!

Come back later today for Confessional Friday!

Bless all you kindergarten teachers. Or any of tho Bless all you kindergarten teachers. Or any of those who are telling your students to leave their shoes on and eat a snack (not a meal). Also, any other moms out there that their kid missed their siblings more than you? 🤦🏼‍♀️ oh well, he enjoyed it and his teacher is literally the sweetest thing! How is your first week going? Any case of the kids say the craziest thing? I love the first day of school, and it’s such a special moment to watch and see how each child takes the day and runs with it. 💙
I’ve got another after school snack recipe for y I’ve got another after school snack recipe for you! We love making these apple donuts—they are fun for the kids to decorate—add frosting, peanut butter, sprinkles, the list goes on! Kroger now has an amazing new membership that offers FREE next day grocery delivery. They are also giving 2X the fuel points for every dollar spent* on groceries. All of this and much more for $59/Year! We love getting our groceries from Kroger as it saves so much time and money, in more places then just the grocery store.
How are you celebrating National Book Lovers Day? How are you celebrating National Book Lovers Day? Picking books out at the library each week is my favorite part of the week when homeschooling my boys! We go through a list of books that our just right for their reading level, and put them on hold at the library. When they are ready we drive thru and pick them up. The best part? We can look at all the books we read at the end of the school year, and use that as part of our portfolio. Do you utilize your library? How do you pick out your books?

What supplements do you take? You’ve got all the What supplements do you take? You’ve got all the care routines down—but what about adding in your supplements? We’ve use @firstdaylife for the boys for a few months now, and I recently purchased the supplements for myself. I’m loving both of them! I take them each morning with my skin care routine—which helps prepare my body for a great day. 👏As a busy mom of three, I need to take care of myself as well and this is one way I do it! We start the homeschool year tomorrow, and I’m excited to get all of my daily routines in order and be prepared for the day!
