First Birthday Gift Guide

Somehow my sweet little one turned one in the blink of an eye. It feels like just yesterday I was pregnant and figuring out life with two

first birthday, gift guide, Christmas gifts, toddler gift guide, birthday gifts, gifts under $50, kids birthday, Toddler Christmas Gifts, one year old gifts, what to buy a baby

I say it all the time on my instastories, but I am in amazement by how different siblings can be. Come read about Bennett at a year here. We had a little birthday party last Saturday with some close friends, and it was a perfect intimate time. We rented a bounce house for the bigger kids, and they played in that the whole time. Carson enjoyed the cake (or should I say icing, he would spit the cake out). I'm so excited to see where this year takes us!

Prepping for the Holidays with Little Hands

As the oldest daughter and the only daughter in law, I have taken it upon myself to host holidays. I actually love throwing parties--preparing my house is one of the biggest steps in the party process. I'm here to share you how my little man and I prep for the holidays.

My floors receive a lot of traffic--from dirty shoes to sticky crawling fingers these floors see it all. Because of this they often need a good clean wipe daily, but when company comes I have to break out the big guns and power clean them. I was lucky to find Bona PowerPlus, and I'm loving the way it's making my wood floors look.

Christmas at Gaylord Palms

I love Christmas time. I love looking at lights, the trees, giving gifts, and so much more. Living only an hour from Orlando it's surprising to me that I've never been to the wonder which is
Christmas at Gaylord Palms!

I was invited to attend a special media preview for Gaylord Palms ICE! with the Mommy Spot Tampa last week. I jumped on the chance to experience what everyone has been talking about for years--and brought Bennett and my siblings along with me. We dug through our cold weather gear and grabbed some gloves at the dollar spot at Target and we were ready to go!

Gingerbread Snowball Cookies

There is one thing I love about the holiday season and it's helping people. I've always loved the angel trees, the fill a shoe box program, and adopting a family--and wait for those to pop up all over the city when Christmas time comes. In addition to this delicious recipe I'm sharing today, I'm also sharing a way you can help the California wildfires and hurricane victims in Texas and Florida.

What's in My Toddler's Bag

Getting through the baby stages is one of the most tiring, amazing, trying, and beautiful times. Leaving the house is a full on adventure, as if you were packing for a weeks vacation to the beach. You must bring burp cloths, changes of clothes, formula, water, bottles--seriously, the list goes on. Although my kiddos don't require as much these days, I still carry around my Lily Jade bag that holds all of the essentials I need for my little ones in this stage of life. Here's what's in my toddler bag.

Biscuits, cranberries, and white chocolate make this easy dessert a perfect one for your holiday get together.

Biscuit Bombs, Biscuit recipes, Cranberry desserts, cranberry white chocolate, cranberry white chocolate biscuit bomb, biscuit roll dessert, biscuit dessert, thanksgiving dessert, easy fall dessert, Christmas dessert, Christmas Party dessert, Friendsgiving dessert, semi homemade dessert, jelly filled donut

I have always love cranberries in anything. I make a delicious cranberry glaze that goes over our turkey, and I cool the cranberries to use as a cranberry sauce. I also love me some orange cranberry bread, or lets not forget about the Cranberry Bliss bars at Starbucks.

Hearth & Hand Must Haves

Building a custom home is a very stressful job-- there are contractors to find and so many decisions to be made. At the end of the day though, you have a beautiful home that you created.
I have only shared pictures of the house on my insta-stories because I want to do a huge reveal. But, since we are all obsessed with the new line Hearth&Hand from Target I figured I'd share a couple pictures. Now that our home is in the final stages of building, it is now time to decorate! Obviously this is my favorite part, because well who doesn't love decorating a beautiful new home?

When Target announced they were partnering with Joanna Gaines I knew I was in trouble. I have loved the show from the second it started, and would hop on a plane in a heart beat if my husband insisted on taking me there. When I woke this morning bright and early (thanks to time change) the first thing I did was pick out my must haves, and added them to my cart.

Budget Friendly Halloween Decorations

Sponsored Post: This post is sponsored by Walmart, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Halloween Decorations, Walmart Holiday Decorations, Holiday Decorations, Place Setting, Kids table place setting, Budget decorations, Holidays at Walmart, Walmart decor

I always loved decorating for the holiday; after having kids it brought a whole new level of excitement. The second the holiday items hit the store my little one has to have it all. Since we already have so many holiday items; I try to stick to a budget when purchasing all of the trendy decorations.  This year for Halloween I set my budget at $25. I made a list before I went in hopes that I would just get those things, and not add things to my cart I didn't need.

Gift Guide for Your Little Artist

I was never an artist, so I'm basically running with the fact that my son loves paining every hour of the day.

I've rounded up the best kids art supplies! These make the best gifts for any time of year, Toddler art supplies, Kids birthday gift, unusual birthday gift, gift guide, kids Christmas gift, stocking stuffer, toddler present, melissa and doug gift, crayola gift, creative toddler

For a good long time (ok, well a year or so) Bennett would not sit down and play with Playdoh, paint, color, anything. It could be that he spent a ton of time doing it at school, so doing the same thing at home just wasn't what he had in mind. However, in the last couple months he's fallen in love with all things art--and our house has turned into an art museum and I'm okay with that.

Pumpkin Granola Bars

These chewy granola bars are filled with peanut butter, chocolate, and pumpkin--making these the ultimate fall treat for those little (or big) hands.

Pumpkin Granola Bars, Breastfeeding Granola Bars, Chewy Granola Bars, Pumpkin Chocolate Snack, Peanut Butter Pumpkin, Fall Snack, Fall dessert, Fall treat, Pumpkin dessert, Fall lunch box ideas

If you've been with me for a while you know I love fall. Living in Florida, we are currently still rocking temps in the 90s and humidity may have dropped a percentage this week. Since we don't really have the weather to go with the season; we have to create it ourselves inside our homes. I bought some mums last week and placed them on my front porch, decorated for Halloween on my mantle, and bought some pumpkins that will have to be replaced next week.

Life with Two and a Family Update

So it's been 6 months since I gave an update on Carson, and a mad minute since I gave one on Bennett. Here is my update on them both and what I am loving about being a mom to two.

Life with Two, Big brother, new mom of two, two under three, two under two, 3 year old milestones, 9 month old milestones

Before I had two kids, I always wondered how your heart could stretch anymore. How would I be able to hold two at the same time? Would Bennett think I forgot about him? Will Bennett like having a brother? Will I grow another arm to attempt to change a diaper and feed my child at the same time? The list goes on.

Gift Guide for the New Homeowner

New homeowners are always so excited to receive gifts for their new home. The holiday season is a perfect time to give those gifts.
Housewarming gift, gift guide for homeowner, christmas gift guide homeowner, new home gift

The second September hits, all things holiday commences and we are captivated and just sorta drawn to it. We buy all things pumpkin in October, we check out the Black Friday deals in November, and hang all things red and green in December. If there is one thing that has always helped me prepare for the holidays--it has to be gift guides

Target Fall Fashion

Ok, I may live in Florida but give me all the mustard, maroon, and grays. I've got the ultimate family must haves for those fall days, including some pieces from the new line

Does anyone else live at Target? They've got it all, just between Starbucks and the Cafe I'm basically set for the day. On August 27th, Target launched a new line. I actually was at the Target in Maui when I saw everything, and I about dumped everything out of my luggage to load up on new clothes. Luckily, we were heading to our flight and my husband (voice of reason) was with me, so I didn't.

Five Step Bedtime Routine and Printable

School is back in session and that means early bedtimes for the littles. We're trading the late night movies in for bed before the sun even goes down.

Bedtime Routine for Kids, Toddler Bedtime Routine, Printable Bedtime Routine; Bedtime Routine Checklist; Back to School Checklist; School Night Checklist; Nested Bean bag, Petite Plume Pajamas Gingham pajamas
It's so hard on the little ones to transition to school night bedtime, but hopefully this routine helps it make it easier on your little one. I love bedtime, not only because it means some quiet time for myself--but it's the calmest part of my day, and I enjoy just cuddling with my boys before they go to sleep.

Tips for Toddler Haircuts #Shareahaircut

With school around the corner and a third birthday approaching, it was that time again. Time for a haircut.

Haircuts for little ones, hair cuttery share a haircut, Kids haircuts, toddler haircuts, haircut tips, haircuts for boys, special needs haircut tips

Since his first birthday he has had to get a haircut about every 2 months--it grows so very fast. His first haircut was probably the easiest haircut, my sister cut it and he didn't cry at all. After that it kinda all went down hill from there.

Back to (Pre)School Must Haves

Oh, back to school time. The time of year that parents hate to love.

Back to School Must Have; Back to Preschool; School Supplies; Back to School

We love that they get a little breathing time, or that their kids are finally back on a schedule. We miss the late movie nights, or the spontaneous weeknight ice cream trip. Listen up, summer will be here before you know it--who am I joking? Those random day offs will be here before you know it and you will have no idea what you are going to do all day with kiddos at home.

S'mores Brownie Cups

Delicious brownie cups with a melted marshmallow filling and milk chocolate frosting with some sprinkles of graham crackers. Are surely going to keep you inside from those hot temps outside.

S'mores Brownie Cups, Brownie Bars, Semi Homemade Brownies, Brownie Cupcakes

I love s'mores but being outside by a fire pit in the middle of summer, just isn't for me. To be honest, we don't even have our fire pit out during the summer. The temps have been hitting the high 90s and every evening there has been a thunderstorm, so even if we wanted to enjoy the fire pit we wouldn't really be able to.

Workouts for the Busy Mom

I've been there (a lot), you're tired and working out is the last thing on your mind. Really though, just do it. You will feel so much better.

Workouts Busy Mom; New Mom Workouts; Workout; Busy
When I first had Bennett I couldn't really get back into working out. Let's be honest, when he slept--I slept. About 4 months postpartum I decided that was it and I had to do something. I joined a fun group of mom's at the mall every morning for a great workout. I'm actually still friends with a lot of them to this day.

To My Husband on Father's Day + Gift Guide

To think back 14 years ago to when I first met you, I never would have thought I would look at you the way I do today.

Ashley Yvonne Photography
I remember so vividly our years dating, and even more so I remember the night you proposed to me. It was magical, and I can relive that moment in my head many times over. The day we said I do was everything I wished for and more--you were finally mine forever.

6 Essentials for your Road Trip + Printable

Kleenex Tissues Go Anywhere Pack Road Trip Essentials
About a year ago we decided we would take a road trip. Our cousin was getting married, and we figured we could just make a big vacation out of it. We would stop at my cousin's house in Knoxville and head up 75 the rest of the way. A couple times that week I checked flights, as I was just a little terrified of the adventure ahead. It turned out to be an amazing trip with my family--and although I wouldn't do it again next week, I definitely see us doing it again one day!
I'm sharing my essentials for a successful road trip! What are some of your must haves when traveling?

The New Mom's Guide to Strollers

Buying a stroller is almost like buying a new car for your little one.

City Select, Pockit, City Mini, Bugaboo Donket

The amount of strollers I have owned is mildly insane. Seriously. I will say that I have my favorites now, and I definitely know a thing or two about strollers. Strollers are expensive, and sometimes you realize it really doesn't do everything you thought it would do. Think taking it to the beach or on a flight. Strollers have come so far since we were born or even 10 years ago. You walk in a store and there are no longer 3 options to choose from. It becomes overwhelming and you just purchase whatever one will go with your car seat.

Don't worry, I've done the research for you. These are my absolute favorite strollers--now all you have to do is decide. Which one will it be?

Organize Children's Masterpieces

As a teacher I was all about "recycling" scribbled on paper. Now as a mom, I see a masterpiece out of scribbles and circles.

I have stacks of what I consider artwork--I can not get myself to throw it out. It's bad ya'll. Recently, I figured I had to do something with all of the work and that the piles that were accumulating just weren't cute or allowing me to enjoy the artwork that my littles were creating. With the school year ending, I have come up with some ideas to help you organize your kiddos work and declutter! Cause I am sure if you are anything like me--that painting of a heart is just too cute to throw away.

Spring Clean with Bona Free and Simple

Bona Free and Simple, Clean with Kids, Kid Chores
Having two kids is no joke my friends. I would like to thank the Academy the parents I sat for during college, for the many times they prepared me for what was soon going to be my future. One thing I wasn't prepared for was the amount of cleaning that two children require. Having boys that means dirt, sand, and mud on the floor the second they wake up every morning. Soon I will have a little boy crawling all around, and although he's my second child...I'm not all about the dirt in the mouth. Every night I do a quick mop up of the house--wait, I'm sorry Roomba does it.

Three Month Update and Pumping Must Haves!

Three Months Guys--I'm in disbelief that it has already been three months with this sweet boy.

Three Month Baby Pictures Monthly Pictures

It's so hard when your last baby is growing and changing right in front of your eyes. You kinda have a love/hate relationship with it. You love that they are hitting their milestones and growing, but you hate that your brand new baby is no longer brand new. This sweet boy had his first family trip to Disney this month, and he also went to the fair and Dinosaur World. I like to say that Carson has developed his survivor mode. If Bennett comes near him with tons of toys he no longer lets out yells or screams he kinda just deals. I love the relationship these two already have.

3 Essential Toddler Apps

I received a KidloLand to share in an honest review. This post also contains affiliate links. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Essential Toddler Apps Kidloland, ABCmouse
With a new baby, screen time was inevitable in this house. We try to keep the iPad with my purse so it can be used only in the car, but when I'm home alone with the boys and trying to get Carson settled I sometimes hand it over for a few minutes. Until I can resume playing cars with my little gearhead. We started with simple Fisher Price Laugh and Learn apps when he was younger to get him used to navigating the iPad, and now he can navigate in and out of the apps to find what he's looking for. If your little one hasn't quite grasped the ins and outs of starting a new app--put the iPad on guided access so they can't get out of the app you started.

Carson: 1 Month and Our Favorites

I am in disbelief that my baby is already one month. I am cherishing this newborn stage though-- every cry, snuggle, and kiss he needs.

Carson Newborn Pictures Kristen Marie Photography Tampa

I actually had this written before he even turned 1 month, but I really wanted my birth post posted first. Type A problems. If I can say anything about this month, is that it has been a wonderful one. I truly feel like my family is complete and that makes me so extremely happy. I am so blessed with two wonderful boys and I can't wait to watch them grow up together.

Carson Lee: A Birth Story

Ashley Yvonne Photography

I was semi terrified to get pregnant with a second as I had such a rough first pregnancy with Bennett--we're talking zofran daily, headaches daily, sciatic pain, the list goes on. When we decided to get pregnant again, I kinda just prepared myself for the worst, with a toddler I knew it wouldn't be easy--but the end results are what makes it all worth it.

I guess I hadn't learned anything from the entire pregnancy being different, cause I somehow assumed that I would deliver around 38 weeks with this little guy as well, water breaking in bed, rush to hospital, and have him 12 hours later. If that wasn't the farthest from the truth.

Easy Snacks for the New Year

I am a very indecisive person when it comes to eating, rummaging through the pantry I usually can't narrow down a snack to less than 2 items. I'm pretty sure that is how trail mix was created. Now with a two week old and a toddler, I need a quick treat to give me some energy to conquer get by until my husband gets home. I'm partnering with Post® Mom's Best® Cereal to create a trail mix that will be perfect for your busy family in 2017.
