Finally Friday!

We should call this episode of Friday Confessions, baby is coming in 10 weeks! I mean are we ever truly ready for a baby to enter into our real life? I'm not talking being pregnant..I'm talking birthing and bringing baby home. This week has been all about baking baby Carson. Must dos are high up there on the list and we had some great fun with our little Bennett who is now officially out of all things baby. Wait til you hear what we did to celebrate getting rid of the Paci.

Fall Fashion Must-Haves

 photo FALL 2.png/>

One of my favorite times of the year is Fall. Give me all the pumpkin, cinnamon, cloves--the list goes on. I'm also a lover of jackets, boots, and leggings. This year being pregnant with our sweet Carson I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a new fall wardrobe, so I'm bringing you Must-Haves that you can use pre, during, or postnatal. Some of my favorite pieces are the ones that aren't maternity, and even at 29 weeks I am still able to wear them! The items I included are essential items that anyone should keep in their closet all year long.

Menu Plan Monday #31

It's that time of week again. Get your pencil ready and jot down some of your must-haves for this week. I always ask my husband what if he has any requests, and he usually just says don't forget the meat! He doesn't really consider it a dinner if we don't have meat included in it somehow. So, unfortunately there won't be any meatless Mondays happening here because my men need some protein in their life.

This week on the blog I will share Fall Fashion Must-Haves, Potty Training Part 2, and my Finally Friday post--where I confess to you all my deepest darkest secrets favorites from the week. My in-laws return on Wednesday so I'm making a bit bigger meals on Wednesday and Thursday so they can join us--cause truth be told I missed them. I have another girls night out on Friday, so Bennett and my hubs will be on their own for dinner. Without further ado check out my meals.

Finally Friday!

Friday, my favorite day of the week as you all know by now. I am 29 weeks today, and am starting to feel Mr. Carson kick all day long. The boy is just like his brother just way lower. I'm kinda in disbelief that we have 11 weeks left. Could be less though--or more, GAH! I got some more awesome goodies in the mail this week, and soon enough I will get to share them all with you. Without further ado, here are my confessions.

How I Potty Trained--Part One

If you look on Pinterest you'll find all these greatest tips on how to potty train your kid in one day, two days, 30 minutes, etc. I'm here to tell you that every child is different, what may work for one in 30 minutes may not work for your neighbor. One thing is for sure, that by the end of day 4 of being persistent, not allowing diapers, and really watching cues we had this potty thing down.

Menu Plan Monday

I seriously can't believe that it is Monday already. The weekend flew by! I actually ended up making all of my recipes that I had planned last week, and I kinda love when that happens. This week is an equally delicious week--I seriously want to just jump down to the meatball sliders. I will be making extra of those for lunches over the next couple days. Sounds delicious right?! I had to make a noodle bowl this week, as Pei Wei keeps tempting me with weekly emails--umm hello, I can make it here. Thanks, but no thanks. I also have a delicious cookie coming this week over at She Is Blank Space--you won't want to miss it

Monday's meal is a delicious pork tenderloin with a fig sauce sent by the absolutely wonderful Home Chef. I am seriously loving Home Chef, I would definitely say it's the best service I have had out of the one's I have tried. The lasagna is a Home Chef meal as well--but I found you an easy one to make. If you want to try Home Chef here is $30 you seriously will be saving a bunch by ordering these meals that you would order in restaurants.

Finally Friday!

1. I confess it has been a week since Bennett has been out of diapers during the day. A week is a big deal ya'll. I have to give a shout out to my husband who potty trained over his birthday weekend--yes, I decided to start over his birthday. I also have a wonderful cousin who was a wonderful support through it all as well. Seriously if you want to potty train read OH Crap Potty Training--I won't tell you it's easy but it's worth it!

2. I confess last weekend was so busy--we had my husbands birthday and potty training going on. I am excited to relax this weekend and take it easy. Today my iPhone 7 comes in and I know I'll be playing around with that, we also have to make a trip to the mall to return a diaper bag that was the wrong design that we ordered. Don't worry though I got the right one in the mail today.

3. I confess I am getting really excited to show you all my goodies that I have received for my little man Carson when he arrives in December. I will be doing a fun mom bag post, baby bag post, and registry post. I did however order a gorgeous delivery gown that I can't wait to use! It won't be here for 5 weeks, but it will definitely be in my bag that I pack! We have a wonderful birth photographer again--and I say it's a must when you have a photographer present.

4. I confess I finally got the other piece to my stroller. After 2 failed attempts at purchasing the stroller extension in the last 2 months, I finally found it for the price I wanted to pay on Buy Buy Baby. It came today and I could hardly wait to put it together to see what it looked like as a double! It's getting close guys, baby Carson will be here before we know it!

5. I confess I need some ideas for Christmas for Bennett. I wanted to get him the Little Tykes blow up house but I think I am going to hold off until next year so it can be a Bennett and Carson gift. Ha! If you want to heck out last years must haves--click here!

Must Have Snack Gadgets for Littles

Snack time in our house is important. Mainly because I'm pregnant and I promise you I am hungry an hour after I ate. I try not to snack too much in front of Bennett because he will snack just for the fun of it. He is allowed to have a snack in the morning, but I limit him before dinner because he wakes so late from nap that it's almost dinner time.

When we are on the go, I typically bring a snack for him though because I never have an idea of when we will actually get home. It's also nice to have a snack if we are out to dinner and it's taking a long time to get seated or for our food to come out. These are some of my favorite products to have on hand when snack time rolls around.

1. Nuby Designer Series Snack Keeper- Ok, I was using just plastic bags and would pour into the stroller cup, or just let him eat out of the bag. The one time he dropped the baggie at the mall I knew I had to find something else. Cherrios all over Nordstrom floor had me running for the door. Seriously this cup doesn't spill stuff out, I can throw it into any bag I have and know I won't have crumbs to clean up at the end of the day. We also used this cup on the airplane so I wouldn't have to put food on the tray in front of him. This cup is wonderful for all littles ages, if it doesn't spill contents--it is definitely for me!

2. Nuby Insulated Stainless Steel No-Spill Flip-it- In Florida I am pretty sure everyone owns an insulated cup, and if you don't...well you must like warm water. My husband and I both have large insulated cups and Bennett was no exception. We enjoy being outdoors, theme parks, and going to the beach--this cup keeps his water cold for 10 hours. I don't ever have to worry about him not drinking his water because he doesn't like the temp. We also like to use these for milk so it will last longer when we are outside for extended periods of time.

3. Silikids Siliskin Silicone Cup- I have seen these floating around Pinterest for a while, I finally received one and am completely in love. The silicone lid can come off and go on any cup you want to put it on. No more bringing your kids sippy cup to dinner just bring this along and pop it right on top of the cup. This thing isn't going anywhere!

4. Silkids Silimat Map- This is another great item for on the go. This folds up just like a mat and can fit right into your purse/diaper bag. It's great for laying on the table when out to dinner or just using as a placemat at home for less mess!

5. Puj Phillup Cups- We recently did away with buying individual water bottles, instead we have the water truck deliver these huge jugs of water. We are hoping in the long run we save money since we won't be leaving water bottles thrown about with water still left in them. I am in love with these cups for Bennett when we are at home. I fill it up when I know it's empty and it hangs right on the water cooler for him to have access to. I don't fill it up completely, but we haven't had any spills from it hanging there with water in them.

What are some of your favorite snack gadgets for littles?

*The items were received in exchange for a 100% honest opinion from me. I only choose to work with companies I believe in and value.

Menu Plan Monday

It's Monday--and I'm all about that menu planning this week. I had Home Chef come this weekend and we enjoyed some great meals. I highly recommend them over Plated. Great food and tons of choices. For $59 our family of 3 can eat three delicious meals with every ingredient perfectly measured out. It made it nice this weekend because we were stuck inside potty training (more on that later--but ya'll he's doing wonderful).

Yesterday we tried this new place called Black Rock for my husbands birthday, they actually bring you a seared steak and then you cook it yourself on a rock heated to 750 degrees. I liked it but it wasn't love. Lots of other restaurants that I am in love with that actually just bring my food to me already cooked. HA! It was a neat concept though. On to my menu plan---

Finally Friday

It's my favorite time of the week--confession time! We have had a full week of fun visiting family in Ohio and now we are finally back home. I am excited to get some normalcy back into my life. I can't be gone for that long, it just messes me up. Now that I am back in my humble abode I am a much happier camper. We got back just in time for Bennett to go to his Thursday class, and I relaxed unpacked all of our bags. I didn't want to, but hey I couldn't just sit there with them staring at me.

I confess we had some gorgeous pictures taken when in Ohio. We actually were down near Cincinnati for the weekend and I looked up a photographer down there--change up the scenery as well as stay away from the evil which are called mosquitos. The lovely Lauren Day Photography took these two pics--we are in love.

I confess I can't believe I am 27 weeks pregnant today, 13 weeks left ya'll. I can't even with that. Luckily we aren't doing much to the room since we are moving sometime next year--so that's all finished.

I confess I bought something that makes life easier...are you ready? A Braava iRobot mop. Best invention ever. I definitely ran both my Roomba and the Braava while I was doing the dishes, making cookies, giving a bath, and putting Bennett to bed. This was seriously the best money ever spent.

I confess I saw somewhere the other day how many days until each holiday. Kinda got me all excited but at the same time nervous as our sweet bundle will be here by the very last holiday--Christmas. I am so excited to have a special present this year to celebrate with us.

I confess I traveled alone with Bennett on the way home yesterday and he was seriously an angel. He was without a nap, and still just sat on the flight with his iPad, playdough, and snacks. I sat there reading my book--it was bliss. Pure bliss.
Buttermilk Pumpkin Bread

Buttermilk Pumpkin Bread

Put down the fork is what you will have to keep telling yourself once you take a bite of this. Once it's down just pick it up with your hands and enjoy.

Recently we purchased a learning tower for my son, he has enjoyed making eggs in the morning and peanut butter sandwiches for lunch. He has also loved that there is a chalkboard on the back of it to draw on. After nap one day last week I had everything set up for us to make Pumpkin Bread. This boy is a lover of pumpkin bread like his mama, and often times will pass up a cake pop at Starbucks for a warm loaf of pumpkin bread on our journey through Target.

I knew I wanted some type of crumb topping--because who can really resist a buttery sugary goodness crumbled on top of your bread. I actually made way to much of it, but hey it was heavenly. The recipe below has a decrease in the crumb topping but feel free to add more if you'd like!

Grab a cup of coffee and a warm slice of this bread and you are sure to forget that it's 90 degrees outside!

Pumpkin Bread:

Recipe adapted from Damn Delicious

2 1/2 c. Flour
3/4 c. Sugar
1/4 c. Brown Sugar
2 tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
2 Eggs
1 c. Pumpkin Puree
1/4 c. Butter, Melted
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 c. Buttermilk (make buttermilk)
1 tsp. Salt

--Crumb Topping--

3/4 c. Flour
1/4 c. Brown Sugar
1/4 c. Sugar
1/2 tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice
1/2 stick Butter, Melted

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease one 9x5" loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl combine the flour, sugars, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, and salt. To make the crumb topping--in a separate bowl combine the flour, sugars, pumpkin pie spice, and butter.
3. In a separate bowl whisk the eggs, pumpkin puree, butter, vanilla, and buttermilk.
4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and mix using a rubber spatula until moist.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle the crumb topping over the loaf, pressing down gently into the batter.
6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before removing from the pan.

What do you like to make with your kiddos?

Finally Friday

It's September! That means pumpkin, fall, cooler weather (ha, I wish) and it also means my sweet baby Carson will be here in about 3 months! This pregnancy has flown by and we can't wait to meet this little guy. I had such a fantastic long week, and can not believe it's already Friday. Here are my confessions for the week--what are you confessing?
I confess I love the North's cooler weather. We are visiting some family up north where the weather is gorgeous right now! It makes me want to run away and just live here, instead we will be home very soon. Back to the 90s with high humidity and zika. The terrifying Zika.   I confess I'm terrified of Zika. I am not a naturally paranoid person, but with Zika---I can't get it out of my head every time I walk outside. If I didn't pay for Bennett's tuition or swim class we would be staying up here until it was time to have this baby. I'm not playing. This fear is real. Anyone else?
I confess we have family pictures on Sunday evening and I am super excited about it. I wasn't planning on doing them while out of town, but like I said I really am terrified of Zika so I'm staying far away from those blood sucking monsters and having pics done this weekend! I have a lovely fall outfit picked out for us all, and can't wait to show you how they turned out!
I confess that I have officially began making pumpkin stuff! This week I made some delicious pumpkin brownies and pumpkin chili. I featured the pumpkin chili on the She Is blog and I even made a video showing how to make it. Remember don't judge me too bad as its my first video, I'm so looking forward to doing more!
I confess I have this gorgeous watch that Jord sent me for a review and blog post. I am currently running the giveaway until next Sunday so you must enter!
What are you confessing this week?
