Finally Friday!

(My mom and sister before the ceremony)

My sister graduated 8th grade last night. It was a really nice ceremony, and was really neat to see how many students had been there since they were babies. I can't believe she is on to high school next year. That's crazy and amazing. She will be attending a local private christian school. We are excited to see where she goes from here!

(Playing at the play place at Akron airport)

I am so excited to be back to normalcy since we have been back from vacation! It's always nice to get away, but even nicer to get back. I actually had left early since my husband was going to be out of town, and coming straight to Ohio from it was kind of silly for me to sit around and wait til the next week. We had a blast, more on packing tips for the little ones coming up. I can really say, we did not forget anything and didn't have to make any unforseen trips to Target.

The family we stay with are have a beautiful home that is always clean, I now aspire to be like that--haha. But for real, I came home the next day and cleaned the entire house, and I have stuck with it ya'll and it's Friday. I'm actually pretty excited about that...Now to unpack the suitcases. Don't judge.

We have a cute little bear crawler. While on vacation Bennett decided he would begin to crawl. He started going backwards the first few days, but quickly figured out that he has to go forwards to get to the toys he wants to get to. It's incredibly cute.

To go with him bear crawling he has finally--took a while--figured out that he can sit up in his crib. The other day I thought he had fallen asleep and he was just crawling back and forth in his crib and playing like crazy. I guess it's time to lower all the way, and mount the camera.

While on vacation I may or may not have gone crazy in World Market. I really wish we had one nearby, and since we don't I had to use my coupon I had just gotten that morning. My haul included, a laundry magnet (it tells you what all of the signs on your clothing mean), picture frame, placemats, ramekin's, ring dish, and a popsicle mold. Despite my begging for the awesome Zoku machine, I ended up purchasing a simple popsicle mold for $4.99.

Until my wonderful husband decides that we must purchase a Zoku machine, I will make popsicles in a mold. Last night, that is exactly what I did. I searched for the perfect popsicle for my little guy, and while pinning maybe 25, I finally decided on a favorite! I picked up some frozen strawberries and some fresh bananas, magic bulleted them and mixed in some whole milk greek yogurt and a tablespoon of coconut oil.

Be on the lookout today for a instagram shot of my boy eating his delicious popsicle!

9 Month Update

Sorry the update is a little late, vacation was wonderful...and we enjoyed spending lots of time with family and very little on our technology---no service where we were. Back to the modern world of Tampa. Without further ado, here is my sweet baby's update.

Weight/Length: 18lbs. 5oz, not sure of height...we have our appointment a little late this time since we were out of town.

HairHis hair keeps getting lighter, I think it will be a dirty blonde color. Especially when he is in the sun.

DiapersSize 3 Honest Company and Medium Gdiapers

Clothing: 6-12 Months in Gap, Old Navy, and Gymboree. We just switched over to 12 month clothes on our trip. We made the 9 month clothes last until we went on vacation so that I could just pack the 12 month clothes.

Favorite Things: Elmo, Scout, phones, balls, swing, bubbles

Likesgoing on walks, being outside, throwing things on the floor, playing catch, standing up

Dislikes: When toys are too far out of his reach, when he gets overtired, when pop pop doesn't pick him up, cutting teeth

Eating: The boy will eat anything. He eats off our plates as well as eats his food that I make him still. Loves his yogurt, pancakes, bananas, and anything breakfast related. He also loves the Happy Baby pouches.

Milestones: Bear Crawls, Stands up, feeds self finger food, walks with our help,   says "more".

Sleeping: He has been sleeping through the night for about a month.

Mama Thoughts:

This sweet boy literally changes every day! One day he was just sitting there the next he was on his knees, and the next he was bear crawling around. I'm so excited what the next few months hold!

That's What She Said: Three Bones

When I think of wishes I think of Pinocchio, his dream was to become a real boy. Everyone needs a dream, wish, or a want in life in order to feel as if you are working towards something of importance for you not just someone else. I remember dreaming of finding my prince charming, hoping one day I would get married, spend forever with someone. I found him. I dreamed I would teach the minds of little ones, I achieved that. I wanted a baby so bad, and now I am currently watching him grow up in front of my eyes. It's funny how now I may have little hopes and dreams for myself, but my ultimate wish right now is that my son grows up healthy, strong, Godly, and wise.

In order to achieve this ultimate goal of having my son grow up into a man of God, I will need to have a backbone. I We will need to stand our ground with rules, expectations, and wants. I am currently reading--on hiatus--Boys Should Be Boys, it's a wonderful read and everyone that has a boy should read it. One key point in the book is that boys need structure, there minds will run free if you give them the open world. Set times for activities, allow him free play but set boundaries. Boys need time to experience the world, but they need your wisdom and guidance more than anything.

When you are watching a boy grow up you have to have a funny bone. You have to see the silver lining when the going gets tough, find something that will put a smile on your face, even though it may be hard. There is a time to be funny, and there is a time to be serious. But I think generally speaking your funny bone, is the one that keeps you sane. Keeps you pushing on with your goal, it lets you know that there are brighter days on the other side.

Menu Plan Monday: Vacation Edition

While I am away it is always hard to meal plan, we generally stay with family when we visit them...and if we go on a trip alone we generally just eat out. I do always tend to plan breakfast in a way and sometimes lunch. When we stay with family I usually pick up my favorite yogurt from the closest grocery store, some cereal, granola, and bananas and call it breakfast for the week. When we take a beach trip, I always get the essentials...bread, lunch meat, chips, fruit, and water. There is so much more planning you can do while on vacation though...crockpot, grilling, one pot pasta dishes. I have compiled a list of helpful resources when menu planning while on vacation. Follow my board as I continue to add more resources over the summer.

Another quick your own alcohol at a store vs buying on site at your resort. It will save you a ton of money!!

Packing List: Baby Style--Printable

Packing List

Unfortunately, I have been crazy busy this week and haven't been able to blog much. I also didn't get to do a Finally Friday post. I did create this printable this week! Ask me how I packed before a baby...and I will tell you I took all of my clothes out of my closet and threw them into my luggage. Now days with my sweet boy joining us on our family vacations, it takes time to sit down and think of everything I actually need for him. I hope you find this printable helps you when packing to go on vacation with your little ones!

Finally Friday

This week was the longest, and I am so glad that it is finally the weekend. This week was super busy and it feels like Monday was a month ago. We have a lot going on this month, and this next week is jammed packed. Without further ado here are my confessions...

I confess that I tried searching like 20,000 consignment stores before just biting the bullet and buying Bennett new PJ's from Carters.

I buy a lot of Bennett's clothes resell, and I don't even care that I am admitting that. I don't mind buying something nice brand new for pics or something, but buying a onesie brand new just can't be justified usually. I do buy him stuff from the Gap when I see a great deal, I just bought him 4 new 18-24 month onesies that were only $4 each. Could not pass that up.

I confess that in March I had a mole removed, and never received a call so I figured all was good.

Well I received certified mail today saying they tried calling and they need to biopsy more of the area. Say WHAT?! I guess I forgot to change my number when it got changed last year. Keep me in your prayers this week when I get it biopsied.

I confess that I am excited for our vacation in a few weeks.

We will finally get to see our family in Ohio, who we haven't seen since November. Bennett has changed a lot since then, so this will be a lot of fun for all of us! Any tips on flying with a 9 month old?

I confess I am pretty excited we have more company visiting.

I love when people visiting, because I kinda like to be a tourist in my own backyard. Tomorrow we will venture out to Frenchy's in Clearwater, and just enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. Frenchy's is right on the beach, and I want to get there early to get a patio seat!

I confess I will have a 9 month old this next week!

This past week was 38 weeks, and it just insane to me that I carried him for 38 weeks and he has been out for 38 weeks. Be looking for a 9 month update on Thursday!

I confess that I felt like a kid again seeing Beauty and the Beast at The Straz Center.

My inlaws got my husband and I tickets to see the show for an early Mother's Day gift. We were only 3 rows back, and I am pretty sure my eyes lit up like I was 5 years old again. Such a beautiful story!
