Morning Makeup

I know some stay at home moms could care less if they ever put makeup on or change out of their pajamas. A few months ago I was really missing work. I was missing the interaction, the kids, just looking pretty...then I read somewhere how to feel good about staying home. I began creating a routine just like I had when I worked. I got up, got dressed, put my contacts in, washed my face, brushed my teeth, and put some makeup on. It made me feel so good about myself, so I have been doing it for about 2 months now.

Luckily I am one of those people that don't really mind getting up in the morning. I love my bed, but when my sweet Bennett yells for me...I'm ready to start my day. After I nurse Bennett, I get changed out of my pajamas and start my day. During this time, he enjoys some independent tummy time (eventually turns to back time and also somehow manages to turn in a circle to get wedge somewhere.) We generally do something in the morning, whether it be Stroller Strides, My Gym, swim class, or grocery shopping...l like to be prepared presentable for the world.

I have never been one to know how to put on makeup--or hair but that's another issue. I actually generally have no idea what I am doing (except for Pinterest tutorials)...but I think I look good and I like myself in pictures so we call it a day. On those really fancy days I have my sister do my makeup. I am here to share with you some of my favorite products and to hear about your favorite products, morning routine, and what you do in the morning!

  1. Love this post and I feel this is so true! Even though I do not have a little one yet, I know it has to be important to feel like yourself. Not only for yourself but for your husband and for your baby... Mama needs to be happy, right?!? So glad you left a comment on my blog so I could find yours!!
