Stranded--With Netflix

Today I am linking up with Shay and Erika for another round of Stranded. This time it's a fun one--I'm stuck on an island with Netflix. I mean really? How bad would it be to be stuck on an island with Netflix--I'm pretty sure I'd go in a heartbeat. Just sayin'. Without further ado, let's get started.

This is one of my all time favorite shows. I remember when we use to get the DVDs from Netflix (Do they still do that?) and I would order Gilmore Girls seasons. It was amazing to me that I could "binge" watch all of the episodes. I still do to this day. No regrets.

My Mother in Law knows every show on TV--she might be a season late but she still knows about it. This was one of them. Try to get through an episode without crying. I dare you. It's amazing--and although I've stopped a couple times to binge on another series, I always come back.

This show came out either when I was in high school or college, I don't remember exactly. I stayed home my first year of college and every time a new episode was on, my dad would watch it with me. I'm telling you, it captivates everyone. Right before I had my son, my husband and I started watching it. We watched every episode before he was born. That's saying something because that's a whole lot of episodes.

This is such a cute show--small town, country boys, and a doctor who is taking over her dads business. It's an easy watch and can definitely be watched when you want to take a break from the show you're currently binging.

What Netflix show would you take with you to a deserted island?

Finally Friday!

I know I've said before---but I love Fridays! I love spending the weekend as a family and just relaxing. It seems like we are always on the go during the week, which is fine because I'm not one to stay cooped up in the house. This was our first week off of school and I'm remembering what it's like to be a stay at home mom again.

It's hot ya'll. Summer is officially here and although I'm only 13 weeks pregnant--I feel 200 times hotter then any given day. We've been living in the pool, splash pads, and Adventure Island. Thank the good Lord in heaven I have a fish as a son because if not we'd be cooped up in side all summer. Oh--and I'm all about the aquarium. Indoors where its cool, shaded splash pad, and lunch on the water. Win, win, winning

So I'm not lazy--just running out of ideas. This is where Plated. comes in. You know when you're scrolling on FB and all these ads just capture you in and you end up getting something...that's Plated. Except I did my research, because I really wanted food that I would actually eat. I had tried another company before and wasn't a fan of really anything they sent. Plated. kinda sounds delicious, plus you can choose your own meals! We are sticking to the 2 a week with a dessert. Because this mama loves dessert with her meal.

I love summer because it's always been a time of beachin', vacations, amusement parks--this summer is definitely not falling short of that. We have a fun trip planned in a few weeks to St. Augustine with my mom and siblings. Once I finish the laundry from that trip Sometime after we return, we are heading on a road trip to Jacksonville to see my cousins and their sweet babes. Then it's off to Sesame Place where we will spend a few days, then back down to Florida with a pit stop at St. Simon's island! A few weeks later we will be heading to Anna Maria where we will spend more time with my mom and sibs and have some updated family pics at one of our favorite vacation spots.

13 weeks today.
Which means 13 days until we find out if it's a boy or a girl?

Before our Adventure Island excursion today I asked a friend to meet me at the park for some playtime. But before that even happened I decided I needed donuts in my life for donut day. Like you need an excuse for donuts. So this mama drove to Publix got a half dozen and some chocolate milk and happily ate one while my son splashed in all the puddles at the park.

What was your favorite part of this week? Any fun plans this summer?

Seriously--is it really the last day of May?

I made it through the school year, that was my goal for this last year--and I somehow after jumping many many hurdles made it! I can't count how many times Bennett was sick this year, I'm not even sure I really want to know. I'm just thankful we have good insurance that I'm not paying a pretty penny every time we head to the pedi. He got tubes put in early March and it seems to be helping with ear infections. He currently has a coughish/runny nose and that would have turned into a ear infection if it weren't for tubes--so for that I'm thankful.

If you follow me on instagram you would have seen my post about our big announcement...

We are excited to welcome another Baby M into the world in December! I'm 12 weeks, and feeling way better then I ever felt with Bennett so that's a plus. I wanted to do whatever I could to not take Zofran, and luckily haven't had to touch many nausea helping drugs. Thank God! Bennett will be 2 years and couple months and will be attending a school two days a week part time, we are so excited for this next chapter in our lives!

I haven't been completely MIA from blogging...

Although I may have let my blog go for a while I have been contributing over at The Mommy Spot and She is {blank space}. Too wonderful websites that are my go to for anything Mommy or just being a woman.
I also had an Etsy calling...
I have also picked up sewing and monogramming everything, and opened a little Etsy shop called Sew Darling. I posted one thing to just get a feel of how the website worked--and it sold! I have sold way more locally but hoping to get some of my stuff out there and sold. Feel free to follow my instagram account @sewdarlings.

Don't Miss Out...

I have some awesome recipes, DIY summer projects, and fun printables coming your way in the next couple weeks! In the meantime check out some of these Summer Bucket Lists that would make your summer a real hit!

Christmas Gifts for Toddlers

Menu Plan What? When my hubby is working late or gone menu planning gets put on the back burner and I tend to just eat whatever is in my pantry or fridge. Thus bringing you my favorite gifts for Toddlers. I'm hoping to get some other lists up over the next few weeks for your husband, kids, and even yourself.

We always do Christmas at my parents house since my siblings are still young. This year though everyone is coming to our house for present opening time, I adore opening presents on Christmas and I am so excited that Bennett will be able to participate this year. We found some amazing deals on a couple items, and he is going to love what we got for him.

With Christmas on my mind, we had our Christmas pictures taken this last week on Bayshore Blvd with our favorite photographer Kristen Marie who has been with us since our engagement!

What kind of gifts did you pick out for your little one? Check out one of my favorite blogs Everyday Happiness for another great toddler Christmas list!

Menu Plan Monday

M- Slow Cooker Lettuce Wraps T-Bang Bang Pasta
W-Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Th- Three Cheese White Pizza
Sat or Sun-Hash Brown Potato Soup

My husband has been out of town the last 2 weeks, which means I haven't been meal planning...which means I may have put on a few pounds. I have actually lost 10 pounds since starting school at the beginning of September. That's awesome considering those last 10 pounds would not come off from pregnancy! Since my hubby is home this week, I have decided to try and make something every day since he eats out a lot when he is out of town. We started the week with some potato soup, and are finishing it up with an early Thanksgiving Dinner with some friends this weekend. I hope you enjoy the recipes I have pulled.

What are your plans this week?

Crockpot Pumpkin Chili

Honestly before Sunday, I had never even heard of pumpkin chili. I have never been a huge fan of chili, but just recently I have been craving some. Last week I made a delicious "Steak and Shake Copycat Chili" which created a love for chili. The other day a friend texted me and asked if I had a recipe for Pumpkin Chili. I immediately searched Pinterest. I found 2 that I really liked, but couldn't quite settle on one. I ended up pulling from 3 different recipes to make this, and boy was it delicious! This friend also opened my eyes to the wonders of cornbread waffles. I don't know where I have been living for the past 26 years, but I'm pretty sure those need to be made ASAP. I hope you love this chili as much as my family does!

2T of Olive Oil
2 cloves of garlic
1 sweet onion
1.3 lbs of ground turkey
7 oz of chicken maple sausage chopped—I used patties
8 oz Pure Pumpkin
2 cans of Kidney Beans
1 can 26 ounces of tomato sauce
1 can 27 ounces of diced tomatoes
2T chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin
2 tsp of brown sugar
salt and pepper to taste

Place olive oil in a pan on medium heat, once hot place onions and garlic and saute for 2 minutes. Brown the turkey and sausage. Add the rest of the ingredients to your crock pot. After the turkey and sausage are finished, drain and place in crock pot. Stir together and cook on High for 4 hours. I served it over top a delicious cornbread waffle!
