Morning Routine

One thing about a morning routine is that is doesn't matter if you are a stay at home mom, working mom, single, etc. A morning routine is a great way to start the day.

When I started this whole mom thing, I was determined to still have my morning time. As a stay at home mom I craved the quietness of the mornings, and needed it to prepare myself for the busy day ahead while enjoying a little something to eat. I began setting my alarm for 6AM daily, and enjoying the stillness of the house. Luckily, I am the person who has always loved mornings, I've rarely slept in past 8:30AM--however, you will find me taking a quick cat nap daily. I've got three tips for you ro start a morning routine this new year.

1. Make Time For Yourself

When I wake up at 6, I turn the coffee pot on and brew a hot cup of coffee. I don't typically have time to drink coffee after the boys wake up as our day starts getting busy, so coffee before allows me to finish it before it gets cold. After my coffee, I typically have about 30 minutes of alone time, I spend it reading some of my favorite blogs and preparing for the day ahead. Carson and I usually have something going on in the morning so this is the easiest time to get ready for what we have planned for the day.

2. Find What Works For You

I know that making lunches isn't ideal for everyone in the morning, but it works for me. I always have the next days school clothes picked out, and shoes set out next to it. The backpack and lunch box are waiting by the door and ready to go so nothing is forgotten. Waiting until the morning to prepare these things makes me feel rushed--it works for me, find what works for you.

3. Eat Breakfast

Each morning I cook up a hot breakfast for my growing boys. I typically cook this up quickly, but for the days I don't feel like making dishes  before 7AM I have Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles. I found this delicious scrambled egg meal next to the bacon at Walmart. I love that this two egg breakfast that offers protein in the form of sausage, bacon, or both. Which both of my boys love. I love the simple scrambles for myself as they are protein rich and have no carbs.

Before I found out about Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles I would grab a granola bar or some overnight oats and eat them in the school drop off line. I now get to enjoy my own hot breakfast including, 2 already scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and cheese. It takes all of 2 minutes to make which is about the time I need to put Bennett's shoes on.

Head to your local Walmart and pick up your favorite Jimmy Dean Simple Scrambles to help you with your morning routine!

Gift Guide for Him

One thing I love about holidays is picking out gifts for my husband. Big or small they are all on my radar. I never have a difficult time--and really any time I see something at the store I know he would love, I jot it down to give as a gift sometime throughout the year. So many of these items I have bought for gifts, and if not they will most likely be given sometime this year.  This is a gift guide that will be very useful when you are looking for the perfect gift for the guy in your life. Five Musts When in Maui

Living 45 minutes from the beach, I never really vacation beach side. It's just not somewhere I gravitate to. I love big cities, so naturally we have always visited one of the popular cities in the US. However, when my best friend decided she was going to get married in Maui, I couldn't say no.

Hawaii was one of those places that "I'd love to go someday, but it's not a MUST". Let me tell you friends, it's a must. The sites, sounds, and world is just different over there. It's gorgeous, the land just captivates you and you just feel relaxed. I've been told this by so many people, for so many years it just didn't seem possible that somewhere like that really existed.

Carson's Space Nursery Inspiration

Happy New Year friends! We woke up to a bitter cold on January 1st and have been loving it here in Florida. If you follow me on instagram, you saw that I'm focusing on the word "intentional" for the year 2018. Being a stay at home mom, it's easy to get side tracked and I want to be more intentional with my days and my times with and without the boys. With a big move coming for our family this month, I want to share my room inspiration with you all for the plans I have for each room.

Knowing we were moving shortly after Carson arrived, I chose not to go all out for his bedroom like I did Bennett's nursery. We decided to keep it as is and create a gorgeous nursery when we moved. Now the time has come and I have loved gathering ideas from all over for this gorgeous space filled room.

First Birthday Gift Guide

Somehow my sweet little one turned one in the blink of an eye. It feels like just yesterday I was pregnant and figuring out life with two

first birthday, gift guide, Christmas gifts, toddler gift guide, birthday gifts, gifts under $50, kids birthday, Toddler Christmas Gifts, one year old gifts, what to buy a baby

I say it all the time on my instastories, but I am in amazement by how different siblings can be. Come read about Bennett at a year here. We had a little birthday party last Saturday with some close friends, and it was a perfect intimate time. We rented a bounce house for the bigger kids, and they played in that the whole time. Carson enjoyed the cake (or should I say icing, he would spit the cake out). I'm so excited to see where this year takes us!
